WOMEN'S RaLLY
Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles, Rallye Roses des Sables, Noor Rally...
Map, compass, roadbook... and not a single GPS. Women's rally is a return to navigation in its purest, most demanding form. Here, the goal isn't to go fast, but to go right: the aim is to reach each beacon covering the fewest kilometres possible — using map, compass and ruler on the Rallye Aïcha des Gazelles, or roadbook and compass on the Rallye Roses des Sables. A discipline where precision, strategy and trust within the crew make all the difference.
These all-women adventures are open to everyone, from beginners to seasoned competitors — and this is exactly where preparation makes all the difference. A wrong heading can cost you dearly in the desert, and on some events, such as the Roses des Sables, navigation training is even compulsory for participants with no off-road experience.
That's why I've designed training courses specially built for women's rally. You'll learn to read a topographic map, take and follow a compass heading, measure distance with a ruler, decipher a roadbook, and choose the best route to validate your checkpoints. We also work on communication and role-sharing within the crew, because a strong partnership is often the key to a great race. Whether you're setting off for the adventure of a lifetime or aiming for the podium, you'll start the race ready, confident and fully autonomous in your navigation.
thEORY TRAINING
The theory session takes place before your departure — either in person, by video call, or on the first day of your course — so that you arrive as well prepared as possible, allowing us to make the most of every minute of the practical training. This module lasts between 2 and 5 hours, depending on your needs and personal requests. Every course is tailored, and many topics can be covered according to your level and your knowledge of women's rally: administrative checks, reading a topographic map, taking and following a compass heading, measuring distances with a ruler, roadbook reading, choosing the best route to reach the beacons by the shortest path, use of onboard instruments, crew management and in-car psychology, and much more. Of course, it's also a moment of exchange, where I answer any questions you may have about navigation and your role within the crew.
PRACTICAL TRAINING:
Duration ranges from 1 to 4 days depending on the chosen package. Aboard an off-road vehicle suited to the tracks and equipped for navigation, I offer a series of routes that we tackle together to work on your navigation in the real conditions of women's rally. We alternate map and compass work, roadbook reading, heading checks and beacon-finding, across a variety of terrain — fast tracks, off-road, dunes — to target every aspect according to your personal needs. The goal is always the same: reach your checkpoints by the shortest path, with precision. Each route is followed by a debrief, so we can review your route choices and prepare the points to work on next. Naturally, these exercises are punctuated with varied challenges that will help you progress quickly and prepare you for every situation you might face on your rally.
